Chris received his Ph.D. in physics at the University of California in Davis.

Using an information-theoretic approach, he seeks to understand the general principles that govern the information processing in natural systems.

Interactions with Chris are animated and often involve phrases such as structural complexity, entropy, information flow, computation, and stored memory. He is a self-described computer geek with a love for soccer, food, wine, books, and technology.
